Cy Ford Art Gallery Project
Earlier today we have introduced Cy Ford to the Internet. In the meantime we have started working on the implementation of the project. The project is managed by Semiomantics and Felisa Ryan, an Semiomantics Agent.
Cy Ford Domain
Felisa has registered the domain CyFord.com at yorGOdom and acquired appropriate hosting for the new site at ChiHosters.
The name domain cyford.com will allow us to get the name of the artist under control on search engines to build authority and Cy’s public image.

To get Cy’s site up and running quickly, we have loaded a WordPress Back-bone and a WP Best eShop Theme. From this base we will now develop the site to become The Cy Ford Art Gallery.

Windows Live Movie Maker for Facebook
When starting to use the new Windows Live Pack and namely the Movie Maker you will immediately notice that Microsoft aims to make things simple, focusing on essentials and features most users want and concentrate on. This Apple like Mikey Mouse approach to things will be welcomed by the average user.
Windows Live Movie Maker includes an integrated up-loader for publishing on YouTube. To post your Pictures to Facebook, a plug-in is available.
Facebook Plug-in
The Facebook plug-in allows you to easily upload your pictures and videos to Facebook including the peoples tags you may have created.
Windows Live Movie Maker Facebook Plug-in
The plug-in works with Windows Live Movie Maker and with Windows Live Photo Gallery.
Get the plug-in from HERE and install it on your computer.
The Windows Live Pack works with Vista and Windows 7, not with XP.

Media Focused Publishing
Last Friday’s webmaster training was the first step to personalized media focused publishing. The future belongs to sound and images, to video clips and pod-casts. Semiomantics NewsCast is a media focused site script as is the Ycademy Framework. Hooks for easy embedding of video files, large image display and sound files are available throughout the whole site resulting in efficiently tagged media readable by Google spiders.
Here is another example of the use of managed media. The example shows elements managed with NextGen Gallery (Semiomantics version).
Media Management: Images
The Ycademy theme disposes of various media storage folders to allow easy media file management.
Albums and Gallery pages can be displayed in a meaningful way using Nextgen Gallery.
Display of Slide shows and mini galleries fit in by using pre-configured widgets.

NextGen Gallery on Ycademy Framework
NextGen Gallery integration with the release candidate of the future Ycademy Framework was the topic of last night’s Webmaster training. The recommended basic configuration of NextGen Gallery was easy to implement. The numerous widget hooks on the Ycademy Framework release candidate allow for efficient display of images.

The Ycademy Framework
Ycademy is the Working Title for a new Framework Development by Semiomantics, based on the Framework used on Yorgo Nestoridis. The framework unites Semiomantics Google Top 10 modules as well as all the necessary hooks for future oriented Media publishing.
Semantic Communication using other media than the written word is of paramount importance a society where communication has no boarders and where people have shifted from reading to viewing and listening, sensing and feeling. A public release is not planned before the end of the year as more development is required. Customized applications are however already under construction.
Ycademy Pro’s will be the first to receive the final release as part of their Ycademy Pro Pack.

Ycademy Webmaster Trainings take place each Friday at 8 pm GMT. They are free to attend and take place at Ycademy’s online Conferencing Facility.

NextGen Gallery for WordPress Training
How to set up, customize and use NextGen Gallery efficiently? This question will be dealt with at tonight’s Ycademy Webmaster Training as from 8 pm GMT at yorGOtalk.
Get NextGen Gallery
For the purpose of this exercise, please download the NextGen Gallery Plugin from HERE and install it on any of your WordPress based sites, ideally on your author blog or on a YORGOO Booster site. Make sure your WordPress is updated to 2.8.4. Please don’t use YORGOO Press for this as on NewsCast and YORGOO Press we use other image handlers. (Unzip the download file, open the folder and then copy faste the folder called nextgen-galley into your plugins folder under wp-content.)
Flash Image Rotator
Download the Flash Image Rotator from HERE. Unzip and load imagerotator.swf to your wp-content/uploads folder.
A New Theme
All those present at tonight’s call will receive a very special Script: it’s what will become the Ycademy Power Blog and CMS by Semiomantics. This is an exclusive release candidate which behaves perfectly well with all features of NGG.
